Lance Katigbak is a photographer, filmmaker, and design educator with a passion for innovation and youth empowerment.

I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines, but moved to the United States to pursue an education in the arts, the sciences, and in life. I am passionate about making good design accessible to all and I dream of starting a firm with design in its DNA and innovation at its core.

I currently work full-time at The Boston Consulting Group, one of the world's leading management consulting firms.

I graduated from Harvard University, magna cum laude, with a degree in Visual and Environmental Studies (focus on Film and Video Production) with a minor in Psychology. I transferred to Harvard after spending two years in the University of the Philippines. In my six semesters at Harvard, I took classes that have taught me everything from 16mm filmmaking and human-centered design to social psychology and statistics.

At Harvard, I founded SpringboardHarvard College's first design club, and served as a Teaching Fellow for The Innovators' Practice, a design-centered engineering class. I also managed Mt. Auburn Productions, a professional, student-run video production agency that is part of Harvard Student Agencies, the largest student-run corporation in the world with over $4 million dollars in annual revenue. I was the Design Director of the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relationsand organized international conferences in Boston, Tokyo, and Manila. I also served as Finance Director of TEDxHarvardCollege, and helped organize the first university-wide TEDx event at Harvard.

Back home in the Philippines, I was on the team that started One Million Lights Philippines, a for-purpose, non-profit, youth-led organization that has improved the quality of life of over 70,000 Filipinos through the distribution of over 12,000 solar-powered lights, and Philippine Model Congress, the first national youth legislative simulation program attended annually by over 500 youths from all over the country, and the only youth conference hosted at the Philippine Senate.

On the side, I enjoy foodtripping, typography, filmmaking, Rubik's cubes, magic, and traveling.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
